Diagnostic tool launched for smarter public spending
Recurve has partnered with the World Economic Forum’s Centre for Urban Transformation and the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution to develop an online tool for cities to evaluate their readiness for innovation-friendly procurement.
Cities globally spend around $6 trillion USD annually buying goods and services from the market. These contracts represent huge commercial opportunities for suppliers, but also a policy tool for local authorities to shape markets and steer private sector research and development investments towards priority policy goals – from environmentally sustainable mobility, improvements in public health, safe and affordable housing, and resilient infrastructure.
To help place leaders across the UK and around the world transform their everyday spending into fuel for innovation, we worked with global partners to co-develop a self-service diagnostic which benchmarks local authorities against best practice and generates an associated action plan.
